Morgantown WV Breast Augmentation
What is breast augmentation surgery?
Breast Augmentation is a surgical procedure used to change the size of a woman’s breast to the desired cup size. Although the procedure is used to make breasts larger, it will not prevent breasts from sagging or move the breasts higher and closer together. Breast augmentation is the ideal procedure for women who desire a fuller profile, looking to improve self-image, or would like to get back breast volume that was lost due to pregnancy or nursing.
Breast augmentation is also known as augmentation mammoplasty. An augmentation mammoplasty (breast augmentation) procedure is used cosmetically to:
- Enlarge breasts to desired cup size
- Restore volume of breast that was lost
- Improve balance and symmetry
- Enhance your self-image and help build more self-confidence
Breast implants are medical devices that are implanted under the breast tissue or under the chest muscle to increase breast size (augmentation) or to rebuild breast tissue after mastectomy or other damage to the breast (reconstruction). They are also used in revision surgeries, which correct or improve the result of an original surgery.
If you are unhappy with your bust size, breast augmentation surgery is a procedure to consider. Breast implants are not only used for cosmetic enhancement, they are also used for reconstruction after a mastectomy or other injury to the breast.
What a breast augmentation surgery won’t do?
Patients need to have realistic expectations when considering this procedure. Breast augmentation will not change the appearance of sagging breasts. If you would like your breasts to have more perk/volume, fullness and to set up higher, a breast lift may be needed. A breast lift is often done at the same time of the augmentation, but can be a separate operation if needed.
